Power from the Sun

The sun sends more energy to the Earth in one hour than the whole world uses in a year. Solar panels try to catch some of this free energy. They are made of special material that turns sunlight into electricity. Today you can see them on the roofs of houses, on farms, and even on small road signs. The price of solar panels has dropped a lot, so more families can afford them. The main problem is that panels do not work at night. For this reason, scientists are building better batteries to store energy for later.
