The Bus to Work

Nora does not have a car, so she travels to work by bus every day. The bus stop is a five-minute walk from her flat. Each morning she leaves the house at ten to eight and waits at the corner with the other passengers. The bus is usually crowded during rush hour. If Nora is lucky, she finds a seat by the window. If not, she stands and holds on to a pole. The ride takes about twenty-five minutes, and she uses this time to listen to music or a podcast. Sometimes the traffic is bad and the bus is late. On those days, Nora sends a message to her boss to explain. Most of the time, though, the bus arrives on schedule. Nora does not mind taking public transport. It is cheaper than driving, and she does not have to worry about parking. Best of all, she can relax instead of watching the road.
