The Street Musician

Every afternoon, an old man named Samuel plays his violin in the busy train station. He has no fancy clothes and no big stage — only a worn instrument and an open case for coins. Thousands of people rush past him each day, staring at their phones, thinking about work. Most of them never stop. But now and then, someone slows down. A tired traveler closes her eyes and listens. A crying child suddenly goes quiet. For a few seconds, the noise of the station seems to fade away, replaced by a gentle melody. Samuel does not play for money, although the coins help him buy food. He plays because music once saved him. Many years ago, after losing his job and his home, he felt completely hopeless. A stranger handed him a violin, and slowly, note by note, he found a reason to keep going. Now he wants to give that same gift to others.
